1981 Jeep Scrambler Rare, ALL Original, 68,500 miles!
This is an extremely rare find!!
1981 Jeep cj8 Scrambler Laredo package.
When i found this Jeep it had been stored for over 20 years!
After fogging the cylinders, putting a new gas tank, fuel pump, spark plugs, engine oil, It fired right up!!
I than had the original radiator re cored, all new belts, and hoses. The Jeep runs, drives, stops, just like it has been used daily.
I believe everything other than maintenance items it is completely original. The fuel tank is not the original one, i did keep it if you want to have it cleaned and put back in. It did not leak, just had crud in it. I actually wish i would have had this one cleaned vs a new one.
Engine is the 6cyl 258 with 4 speed manual transmission.
Has power steering and power brakes.
Parking brake works as it should.
The paint is original except for the brown primer that was applied about 30 years ago. No body work, has been done.
The worst rust is windshield frame, and below where the license plate goes. I am not saying there is no rust… but it is extremely solid.
This scrambler has the original extremely rare option with soft top and hard doors. almost impossible to find!! Top in excellent condition, but the isinglass needs to be replaced. (not a big deal)
Has original tach, clock, radio.
glove box door needs new hinge.
Dash excellent, original seats beautiful! all glass excellent. Even the original wood bed trim is good.

You could drive this as it sits and have an awesome rare Jeep!
The tires are old, but have good tread, and not dry rotted.
If it doesnt sell i will probably touch up all the areas that have the brown primer with original color paint. Put new isinglass in the top.
but before i do this, i wanted to leave as original as possible for a true Scrambler admirer,
