This Jeep was an AEV SEMA display vehicle in Las Vegas in 2017.
It was modified when new by American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) of Wixom, Michigan. It was taken by AEV to the Arctic Circle, the Oregon Back Country Discovery Route, the Dusy Ershim Trail and Moab. I’ve taken it to Moab myself, and as an off-roader for 50 years I must say: This thing is awesome! It is finished in Mojave Sand with color-matched roof, fender flares and wheels over black leather upholstery. The wheels show the scars of off-roading. There are other minor marks and scratches with the worst being a minor crack above the rear window from backing into a roof rafter. Overall the body is very nice and the paint looks great.
AEV installed the brand new 6.4-liter Hemi V8 when the Jeep was new. It has the stock five-speed automatic transmission, dual-range transfer case, Tru-Lok locking front and rear differentials, and Dana 44 axles with 4.56:1 gears. Modifications include 17″ AEV Salta wheels, a 4.5″ suspension lift kit wit proper geometry correction, Bilstein shocks, AEV custom bumpers with a WARN ZEON winch with synthetic cable and IPF off-road lights up front and 5 gallons of potable water storage in the rear. The AEV heat-reduction hood combines with a dust avoiding air-intake snorkel. The gear ratio was upgraded to a 4.10. There is a rear-mounted high-lift jack, an aluminum structural (tent supporting) roof platform, and a rear-view camera plus rear facing work light. There are also rear corner guards, rear fender grab bars and a receiver hitch. The Jeep has AEV differential covers and rear diff-protection plate. The interior is done in Black premium leather with AEV logos incorporated into the headrests. The gauges have AEV logos. The heavy-duty AEV swing out rear tire carrier incorporates a 10.2 gallon fuel caddy.
Factory equipment includes a Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system with rear camera, satellite radio, navigation, and a 9 speaker Alpine sound system, automatic climate control, remote start and heated front seats.
The high rate springs were replaced with softer rate new springs along with new shocks approximately 14k miles ago. The HD springs are included. The body-color 17″ AEV Salta wheels are mounted with 37″ BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A K02 tires, and a matching spare is included on the AEV tire carrier.
Rock-Slide Engineering sliders with motorized automatic drop-down side steps (when you open the doors) were added when I bought the Jeep.
Included is the Hi Lift Jack with extender base, Pul Pal winch anchor, full 8 window reflective sun shade set and potable water pump for the rear bumper water system.
I will also include a front windshield American Expedition Vehicles decal.
The Hemi engine makes ALL the difference. Power delivery is controllable and awesome. AEV builds top-notch equipment, and the workmanship on this beast is exemplary. It’s presence and stance are perfect. If you go to a Cars & Coffee with other Jeeps, this is the one everyone is drawn to!
