1927 Willys Whippet, Great Driver
1927 Willys Whippet, low mileage (22,000) original car, barn stored for 56 years. Car purchased from a man who parked the car in his barn in East Hampden CT, in 1964 and never took it out. He was smart enough to pour oil down the cylinders so the motor wouldn’t stick. He purchased the car from the original owner in Maine. I can prove my claim as I can supply the name and phone number of the man on request (from serious bidders).
Motor runs great, smooth and responsive. Good exhaust system, good brakes, new tires, new top, doors close beautifully with no sag. All glass good, window mechanisms work well, motor doesn’t smoke or knock, generator 6v charges. Body has only a very small area of rot passenger’s door bottom, light surface rust. Body is very straight and solid. Have radiator apron and hood shelves, not shown in pictures. Transmission shifts well but throw out bearing is noisy. Firewall mounted vacuum gas tank doesn’t draw from rear gas tank. Needs cleaning and new gaskets or simply bypass with 6v electric fuel pump.
Car stored indoors. No title, only bill of sale. Low reserve. Unusual 1920’s car that can be driven now and restored
later.
